The Sugar factory is located about 168 km from the capital city Khartoum on the east side of the White Nile River. It covers about 250,000 acres near Abu Hebera Village, White Nile State. The project area extends about 50km south of Al Kawa Town and as far north as the Khartoum-Rabak highway. The White Nile Sugar Plant, inaugurated by HE President Omar al-Bahir on July 11th 2012, is the world’s least consumer of energy. USIPL is the EPC contractor this Africa’s largest Greenfield Sugar project - 24,000 TCD capacity Sugar Factory for Sugarcane Juice Extraction and World’s Largest Bagasse based Power Generation Plant - 104 MW. The salient features of the project are: Location: White Nile State Plant Capacity: 24,000 TCD Juice Extraction: 12 Nos. - 45” x 90” Mills in 2 Tandems Power Co-generation: 104 MW Positive Impact of the Project in the Region Sudan’s sugar consumption is around 1.2 million tonnes a year and at full capacity, the White Nile Sugar Company will produce 450,000 tonnes Sugar a year, which will fill the gap as the total annual production of Sudan is around 800,000 tonnes (from other Sugar Factories). This will not only eradicate the Sugar Imports completely but also create a scope for the Sugar Exports, which will bring additional foreign exchange to the nation. White Nile Sugar Project is also contributing in fighting poverty and to the development of the out-growers of the region. The sugarcane fields of the out-growers are provided free of cost irrigation facilities. It is also providing numerous opportunities of employment.

USIPL has been awarded Savannah Sugar’s “process house expansion package ,” which includes the following components: juice heaters and evaporators, continuous vacuum pans and auxiliaries, and a vertical crystallizer. One of India’s most renowned sugar consulting companies, M/s J. P. Mukherji & Associates Private Limited (JPMA), is serving as the consultant for the Savannah Sugar expansion project.

    International project / Projects / International Projects / Kakira Sugar Ltd., Uganda / Kakira Sugar Ltd., Uganda One of Africa’s largest sugarcane milling tandems USIPL was commissioned one of Africa’s largest milling tandems for Kakira Sugar Limited, the flagship company of the legendary Madhwani Group of Uganda. The tandem consists of 5 mills of size 50” x 100”. Each of these USIPL mills weighs approximately 220 tons (equivalent to the weight of 35 African elephants) and the tandem is designed to crush 8,500 tons of sugarcane every day. To avoid any re-work at project site and to ensure meticulous erection, each of these mills was pre-assembled and then dis-mantled at USIPLs workshops and then shipped to Uganda. The plant is already operating at its full capacity, a testament to the exceptional performance of USIPLs state-of-the-art equipment. This remarkable feature, seen across all plants established by us, underscores our dedication to manufacturing equipment that is not only high-quality but also operationally efficient from the very moment of start-up.

    International project / Projects / International Projects / Assalaya Sugar Company, Sudan / Assalaya Sugar Company, Sudan The state-owned Sudanese Sugar Company is regarded as one of the most successful public sector companies and a vital economic pillar in Sudan. It has an annual capacity to crush 4,320,000 tons of sugarcane and produce 430,000 tons of sugar. The group owns four sugar factories: Assalaya, New Halfa, Guneid, and Sennar Sugar Factory. USIPL has executed a turnkey 13 MW co-generation plant with civil works and a bagasse handling system for Assalaya Sugar Factory in Assalaya. In addition to this, USIPL also designed, manufactured, supplied, erected, and commissioned a “Pressure Stabilization System” and a “Juice Stabilization System” in all four of the Sudanese Sugar Company's existing sugar factories: Assalaya Sugar Factory, Rabak Town, Capacity: 6,500 TCD New Halfa Sugar Factory, Halfa Town, Capacity: 5,500 TCD Guneid Sugar Factory, Medani Town, Capacity: 5,500 TCD Sennar Sugar Factory, Sennar Town, Capacity: 6,500 TCD With the commissioning of the “Pressure Stabilization System” and “Juice Stabilization System,” Assalaya Sugar Factory successfully provided steam to operate a 13 MW steam turbine . This additional 13 MW steam turbine was installed without any investment in a new steam generation unit. The power plant layout was made compact to fit within the existing, operational sugar plant without hindrance or work stoppages. This upgrade across all four sugar factories also resulted in improvements in sugar color and achieved steam savings. Positive Impact of the Project in the Region Of the total generation, 6.5 MW of power was exported to the national grid, providing much-needed illumination to nearby cities and towns.
